Medical Oncologist
 A Fulltime Medical Oncologist is required to cover this Staff Specialist position for a period of up to 12 months , commencing from 1st September 2009. The Haematology/Oncology Department has 4 FTE Medical Oncologists, 1.5 FTE Clinical Haematologists and 3 FTE Palliative Care Physicians together with comprehensive on-site radiation therapy facilities. This is Tasmania’s largest hospital and major referral centre. It has a 20 bed Oncology/Haematology ward and a busy haematology/oncology day unit. The Inpatient services are supported by 2 medical oncology registrars, 1 clinical haematology registrar, a resident medical officer and intern. The Day unit is also supported by a resident medical officer. The Department of Medical Oncology provides comprehensive oncology services and it has a full complement of Allied Health and Nursing staff, including inpatient and outpatient services. Duties would include attendance at 3 outpatient clinics per week, multidisciplinary meetings, unit meetings and inpatient care. On call arrangements are one in every 5 weeks.
